Speaker and world class Ultra-marathoner Dean Karnazes with Steve Tracy, CPA and CEO Club of Marin member our after breakfast meeting. Sell-out crowd over-flowed into the hall ways. Dean wowed the audience with his stories of running and pushing himself beyond known limits…just like running a business! Our next breakfast event is April 8th, with PE investor Stuart Rudnick.

Pencil the next CEO Club of Marin meeting into your calendar: March, 11th at 7.30am at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael.
Come get some breakfast, network, and be inspired by someone who ran a marathon in 127 degree conditions (photo: Dean competing in Death Valley’s Badwater UltraMarathon) and minus 37 degrees (Antarctica Marathon).
Mr. Karnazes will discuss his career switch from corporate businessman to famous ultra-marathoner, and reveal for you five requirements for success in either discipline.
See you March 11th!
Carter Brown’s presentation on Strategy Refresh as a CEO was very well received! Mr. Brown laid out the scenario from his recent CEO assignment then challenged the audience to identify the various strategies considered and employed to maximize the company’s value, profitability, and sustainability. The dialogue was energizing…and the solutions he employed were surprising. We all learned valuable strategy lessons in the process.
The introductions were as always educational and helpful. We had a several new faces and backgrounds, as well as active attendees and CEO Club members recommitting to attendance in 2014.

Be sure to calendar in March 11th, when Dean Karnazes (The “Fittest Man on the Planet!”) joins us to discuss his career switch from corporate business to famous ultra-marathoner, and similarities in what is required for success. Dean is an athlete, best-selling author, business man, globallysought-after speaker, and lives in San Francisco. He has run marathons on every continent, run literally across America, competed in the harshest deserts, and run 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states.
We are blessed to have such great speakers so please support them, network with peers, and see what you can learn in the process. Who do you know?!
See you March 11th!
