 About Joao:

Joao Correia began his successful career racing as a kid in Portugal, and went on to ride professionally. In 1996 he left cycling for college, which led to a career in the fast paced New York City publishing world. Joao’s wanderlust spirit took him on assignments with Hearst on titles such as Esquire Magazine that included working in Prague, Milan, San Francisco and New York. But the passion for the bike was always well rooted with Joao and eventually he became the Associate Publisher of Bicycling Magazine.

With that he started to ride seriously again and eventually lost 60 pounds which led him back to the top echelon of professional cycling as a member of the Cervelo Test Team in a transformation that the New York Times called a remarkable athletic achievement. Joao has also worked for Social Media powerhouse LinkedIn in San Francisco. Joao holds a Political Science and International Business Degree from Fordham University.

Joao is now currently part of two successful businesses; InGamba (view website here.) and CORSO Sports Marketing (website.)

Mark your calendars for our annual holiday party which will be held at the home of Paul Herrerias in Novato on December 9th.

We look forward to seeing you on November 11th at Il Fornaio!

Leading at Mach 2 – Anthony Bourke

A big THANK YOU to our outstanding speaker, Anthony Bourke! There was quite the turn out at Creekside Room on the beautiful Dominican campus of CEO’s and students. And another thank you is owed to Liz Chiarolla, the Events Manager in the Barowsky School of Business, for helping organize a successful event.

Anthony shared his secret to business; always take the time to brief and debrief…it keeps everyone on the same page because feedback and communication are critical to success, just ask a Blue Angels Pilot!

Paul Herrerias, Anthony Bourke, Joe Delaney                    All smiles!

CEO Club of Marin Partners With Dominican University for September Meeting

Don’t miss our meeting on September 9th at Dominican University of California at 7:00 am. Come network, have breakfast and disuss organizational performance. $25 per person at the door.

The CEO Club of Marin and the Business Edge Briefing Series at Dominican University present Anthony Bourke, CEO and Founder of Mach 2 Consulting.

As a United States Air Force fighter pilot, Anthony “AB” Bourke learned early in his career that the key to keeping individuals and organizations performing at their peak is a constant communication system where team members receive honest feedback on a regular basis delivered in a format that they expect. For fighter pilots, this feedback occurs after every single mission as part of a systematic ritual we call “The Debrief.”
The Debrief is a sacred learning environment where pilots of all ranks and experience levels meet as equals with the sole purpose of improving themselves and their team.

Mission & Vision in Action

UEber_uns_-_Kultur_-_Mission___Vision_16fb2c“If you want 1 year of prosperity, grow grain. If you want 10 years of prosperity, grow trees. If you want 100 years of prosperity, grow people.” – Ancient Chinese Proverb

How do we develop an organization that can accomplish its vision, live its mission and be a sustainable thriving force for good in the world? It starts with having a mission and vision that is alive, clear and compelling; a clearly articulated reason for being that is accessible to each individual who is committing their time and effort to bring this vision to life. An articulation that not only sets the direction for the organization as a whole, but one in which each employee can see themselves, and how their individual purpose is connected to that of the organization.

Earn-Outs: Don’t Trade a Handshake Today for a Lawsuit Tomorrow

pile-o-cash-pop_3132Earn-outs — provisions giving the seller of a business additional consideration if the business hits certain performance benchmarks — can be a win-win for both business buyers and sellers.
